The Town Hall Building

The Town Hall Chambers at Wallsend epitomises our vision of impact investing. It is a great local success story of an iconic heritage building being repurposed into a modern, connected business exchange. Purchased in 2014 and completed in two years, the project has been the launchpad for lots of local, regional and national businesses to grow and prosper. 

Situated in the heart of the Town centre, the magnificent baroque architecture stands out as the tallest building on the High Street and the local landmark in its area. Such prominence in its setting allows the building to dominate its surroundings and provide undoubtedly the best address in the area. 

The building is Grade II listed and was originally built as the municipal centre of Wallsend on Tyne, at the time it’s own constituency separate from the rest of North Tyneside. One of only two municipal complexes in the UK that housed the full community itinerary of council chamber, police station and cells, magistrate courts as well as the fire department and public baths, the building drips character and provenance.

Now boasting 1GB+ full fibre to the building connections and state of the art energy efficient fittings, the Town Hall has once again retaken its place at the heart of Wallsend’s commercial activities.

Over 50+ offices house close to 300 jobs which have now remained 90%+ occupied for over 8 years since the first phase opened in 2014. Those high quality, permanent jobs help to make a real difference to the local Wallsend economy.
